Curiosity: The City of Achievers!

There is a city unlike any other—the city that is not found on any map yet open to all who seek it. It has no defined borders, fixed skyline, or sparkling sign boards for paths leading in or out. This is Curiosity, the city of dreamers, thinkers, and explorers. A place where every street leads to a question, every doorway opens to a possibility, and every traveler is guided by an insatiable desire to know more.

I have lived in this city for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of asking “Why?” and “How?”—small questions that led to bigger ones, like bricks laid one after another to build my path. But here, there is no final arrival—only deeper exploration, more layers to uncover, more truths waiting to be revealed.

In this city, every scientist, artist, writer, and innovator who walks these streets knows the feeling of tug-of-war in their mind that refuses to let go until they chase it down. Curiosity is not a passive trait; it is an active force. It is the spark that ignites ideas, the question that lingers in the mind long after the world has gone quiet.

But the path is not always straightforward. It is filled with winding roads, dead ends, and crossroads where doubt lurks in the shadows. Many enter excitedly, only to turn back when they realize that curiosity demands more than interest. To truly belong here, one must walk hand in hand with the companionship of perseverance, patience, and determination.

Perseverance is the bridge that carries us through storms, when failures rise like waves and dreams seem to drift away. Patience is the quiet river, flowing steadily and slowly, reminding us that every ripple brings us closer to the shore. Determination is the fire that burns through the night, lighting the path when the road is long and uncertain. Together, they guide us through curiosity’s winding trails, turning questions into quests and seekers into achievers.

Though I have made curiosity my home through science, I know this city is not exclusive to researchers. It belongs to anyone who asks "What if?"—to artists blending colors in ways never seen before, to engineers designing machines once thought impossible, to children who never stop questioning the world around them.

Curiosity is the birthplace of creativity. Every great discovery, masterpiece, and breakthrough has been born from someone daring to question, explore, and wonder.

So, if you find yourself drawn to the unknown, if you feel the pull of an unanswered question, know that you are not alone. This city welcomes you. Step in with wonder, walk with perseverance, and let your passion guide you.

Do You Cook? You Might Be a Scientist “Do you cook?” It was one of the first questions my former PI asked me— not in a casual lunchtime conversation, but on the day I started working in the lab.
